The Glunz and Jensen Platewriter 2000
The Glunz and Jensen Platewriter 2000, 2400 and 3000 Computer-to-Plate systems are capable of producing press-ready aluminium plates without chemical processing. The PlateWriter™ systems boast innovative technology and set new standards for cost, flexibility and speed of plate production and press make ready for offset litho printing.
In use, jobs are simply sent to the RIP from the design studio or from a PDF file. The PlateWriter™ creates the image by jetting a patented Liquid Dot™ solution onto non-photosensitive aluminium plates, which reacts to the treated plate surface, creating a high quality image. The plates are then fed through the finishing unit which dries the Liquid Dot™ and gums them to protect them from damage before going onto the press. After printing the plates can be gummed and stored ready to use again. The savings in time and chemicals rapidly offsetting the cost of purchase.
